Lucknow — In a remarkable step toward ensuring the holistic well-being of police personnel and their families, the Uttar Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association (VAMA Sarathi) organized a large-scale “Vama Wellness Camp” in collaboration with Dr. Lal PathLabs. The initiative, launched under the visionary leadership of Mrs. Meenakshi Singh, wife of the Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, and Chairperson of VAMA Sarathi, marked a new chapter in police welfare and community care.
The wellness camp was simultaneously conducted across 34 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with the goal of providing affordable and high-quality diagnostic services, raising health awareness, and promoting early detection of diseases among police families.
At the Reserve Police Lines, Commissionerate Lucknow, the camp witnessed active participation from 311 individuals, including 307 who underwent complete health check-ups. The participants included 40 men, 27 women, 120 women police personnel, 100 male police personnel, and 20 children, reflecting the wide outreach and growing health consciousness among the police community.
For the first time in the history of Uttar Pradesh Police, such a comprehensive wellness initiative was held on a collective scale, offering world-class diagnostic facilities at highly subsidized CGHS rates through Dr. Lal PathLabs.
Speaking about the initiative, officials noted that VAMA Sarathi, under Singh’s guidance, has evolved into a living symbol of “Sensitivity, Support, and Empowerment” over the past three months, reinforcing its mission to serve the police fraternity with compassion and care.

To ensure smooth execution of the wellness programs, VAMA Sarathi’s Health and Wellness Committee, comprising leading professionals and spouses of senior police officers —
- Dr. Chetna Gupta
- Dr. Richa Chaudhary
- Dr. Komal
- Dr. Akanksha Gupta
- Dr. Arunima —
played a pivotal role in coordinating the state-level campaign.
Additionally, the Secretary of VAMA Sarathi, Charu Gaba, supervised the camp’s organization and coordination across districts, ensuring active participation from local VAMA Sarathi chapters and volunteers.
The success of the Vama Wellness Camp stands as a testament to the association’s dedication to fostering a culture of health, care, and awareness among the police force — the frontline guardians of public safety in Uttar Pradesh.
